Reflections on 2010

Categories: E-Book News

This has been an incredibly busy year highlighted by the release of my ebook, Outliving Your Ovaries – An Endocrinologist Reviews the Risks and Rewards of Hormone Replacement Therapy on November 20, 2010.  It’s the culmination of a three-year project that has been a labor of love. Catherine Crier told me when her first book came out, she felt like she had given birth and I would have to agree…. except for me, it was quite a protracted pregnancy!

In researching the book, I’ve continually learned about new studies and it’s made the care I give my current patients even better. It’s so exhilarating to find answers to problems that have previously perplexed me! The practice of medicine is a continually evolving process and the more I learn, the more I am in awe of the wonders and mysteries of the human body.

This book is my way of giving back to those women who are far away or can’t afford to come see me because I’m not on their insurance plan.  I wish to thank all my patients and consultants who kindly reviewed the manuscript giving me valuable input. I’m especially thankful to my Practice Administrator, Gordon Blocker, who created the digital version of the book. With his group of consultants, he spearheads a team of consultants who are committed to getting the word out to the women of America and the world.

I can’t bear to see menopausal women suffering needlessly.  I sincerely hope my book eases that transition that every woman must face so that you simply see menopause as the next chapter in your productive life. We are all aging and will die of something eventually, but my goal for each of you is to help you make the most of your later years.
